We're here to help.
The fastest way to reach us is on Telegram — message us at @vpndansupport and we'll usually reply within minutes during the day. You can also email us; we typically respond within 24 hours on business days.
How do I create an account?
Open the app and enter your email address. We'll send you a 6-digit code to verify it — no password required. Enter the code and you're in.
How do I connect to a VPN server?
From the main screen, tap the large connect button. The app will automatically choose the fastest server for you, or you can pick a specific country from the server list.
The first time I connect, iOS or macOS asks for permission. Why?
Apple requires explicit user consent before any app can add a VPN configuration. This is a one-time prompt on each device. After you approve, future connections happen silently with a single tap.
What if I lose access to my email?
Signing in means receiving a one-time code at your email address, so that inbox is the only key to your account. There is no password and no secondary recovery method — if you permanently lose access to the address you signed up with, we have no way to prove the account is yours and cannot restore it. You would need to create a new account. Please sign up with an address you expect to keep.
The VPN won't connect. What should I do?
My connection is slow. How can I improve speed?
Does VPN Dan work with my carrier / on cellular?
Yes. VPN Dan works over Wi-Fi, 4G, and 5G. Some restrictive networks (corporate Wi-Fi, certain countries) may block VPN traffic — if you encounter this, the obfuscation built into our protocol stack (AmneziaWG) helps in most cases.
Which locations can I connect to?
Four today: New York, Germany, Singapore, and Australia. Every plan, including the free one, can use all of them, and you can switch as often as you like. If you need a location we don't run yet, tell us — adding one takes about a day, and demand is how we decide what comes next.
Does VPN Dan work with Netflix or other streaming services?
Sometimes, but we don't promise it and we won't pretend otherwise. Streaming platforms actively detect and block VPN and datacenter IP addresses, and what works one week can stop the next without warning. We don't run dedicated streaming servers. If that is your main reason for wanting a VPN, try the free plan before you pay for anything.
Does VPN Dan log my activity?
No. We do not log browsing history, DNS queries, traffic data, destination IP addresses, or any payload. The only data tied to your account is your email (for login), your device name (so you can manage which devices are connected), and the active WireGuard cryptographic keys required to route your tunnel. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
What encryption does VPN Dan use?
VPN Dan uses WireGuard with ChaCha20 for symmetric encryption, Poly1305 for authentication, Curve25519 for key exchange, and BLAKE2s for hashing — modern, audited cryptography.
Do you share data with third parties?
No. We do not sell, trade, or transfer user data to anyone. We use no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking frameworks. The only external service we communicate with is our transactional email provider (used solely to deliver your one-time login code).
What is the Ad & Tracker Shield?
An optional filter, currently in beta, that blocks known advertising and tracker domains at the DNS level while you're connected. Because it works at the network layer, it applies to every app on the device rather than just a browser. Turn it on in Settings. We keep only an aggregate count of how many requests were blocked in the current month — never the domains you requested, and never when you requested them.
What do the plans cost?
Every plan includes every feature: all four server locations, unlimited devices, split tunneling, the Ad & Tracker Shield, and the same no-logs policy. Data allowance is the only difference.
How do I upgrade to Plus or Pro?
In the app: open Settings → Plan, pick monthly or yearly, and choose a tier. The purchase goes through your Apple Account and the new allowance applies immediately — on every device signed in to your VPN Dan account, not just the one you bought it on.
How do I cancel, and what happens to my data?
Plus and Pro are auto-renewing subscriptions, so they keep billing until you cancel. Cancel in your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends. You keep the plan until the period you already paid for runs out, then the account returns to the free Go plan with its 10 GB. Refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting your VPN Dan account does not cancel the Apple subscription — cancel that separately, or Apple will keep charging you.
I paid but the app still shows the free plan.
Open Settings → Restore Purchases. That re-reads what your Apple Account owns and re-applies it. If it still doesn't appear, check you are signed in to VPN Dan with the same email you used before, then email support@vpndan.com.
What happens when I use up my monthly data?
On Go and Plus, the tunnel disconnects once you reach your allowance, and new connections are refused until it resets at the start of the next UTC month. Nothing is throttled, and nothing is charged automatically — the connection simply stops. You can see how much you have left at any time in the app. Pro accounts have no cap and are never disconnected for usage.
Does unused data roll over?
No. Your allowance resets to the full amount at the start of each UTC month and unused data does not carry forward. If we grant you bonus data for the current month, that bonus is added on top of your plan and survives a plan change.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your email, device records, and active VPN peer configuration from our servers. The action cannot be undone.
I'm not receiving the login code email.
Can I use VPN Dan on multiple devices?
Yes, on as many as you like. There is no device limit on any plan, and your devices can be connected at the same time to the same location or to different ones. Your monthly data allowance is shared across all of them.
Which platforms are supported?
VPN Dan requires iOS 26 or later on iPhone, and macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later on an Apple silicon Mac. There is no Windows, Android, or Linux client, and the Mac app does not run on Intel Macs.
